As Hayden's parents, we are the founders and directors of Hayden's Heart INC. We started this foundation just a few months after he passed away out of desperation as a way to keep Hayden's memory alive and help raise awareness for CHD. Hayden has always had a lot of supporters from his followings on Facebook and we felt with support like that, we just had to keep it going in hopes of helping other families like ours. It has given us a way to feel like we are helping Hayden live on and to us, there is nothing more important.

Ady Dorsett - Chief Executive Officer

Ady serves as a liaison between the foundation and the heart community and is especially passionate about providing support to the heart angel community- specifically through her ‘Healing of the Heart’ retreat for mothers who have experienced a loss due to a CHD. Ady has her hand in all aspects of the foundation from planning and hosting events, mailing out apparel, supporting and communicating with fellow heart moms and heart organizations, and much more. Please contact Ady at ady.dorsett@haydensheart.org.

Rob Dorsett - Chief Financial Officer

Rob handles all financial aspects as well as all the behind the scenes legalities that come with running a non profit 501c3 foundation. He is the head of the annual 5k run/walk committee and helps plan the NJ Golf Outing and the Heart of Gold Gala. For information on the 5K, or other information on our foundation, please contact rob.dorsett@haydensheart.org.

Family

Besides Hayden, together we have three other sons. Jackson is the oldest of our tribe and Hayden's only big brother. Our rainbows Hudson and Greyson bless us with their smiles and energy every day. Together the three of them, along with Hayden's foundation, are helping us heal one day at a time.

Lauren Maffei - President and NJ Regional Director

I am honored and proud to be a part of an organization in memory of Hayden, the sweet baby who not only captured my heart, but the hearts of thousands with just one glimpse of his smile. I am a wife, mother to two boys (Gavin 9) (Owen7), and a longtime friend of Ady's, committed to making every effort to raise awareness and support other CHD families. It is with great honor I take on the role of President/New Jersey Regional Director. I work closely with Rob and Ady to assist in all areas and branches of the organization.

It has become a passion of mine to share information knowing whole-heartedly with each contact made one more person is touched by Hayden’s story and the lives of countless other children affected by CHD. Being able to witness Ady and Rob launch this organization and to see their following is simply astonishing, and I feel truly blessed to stand beside them. I am very eager for what lies ahead and will continue to pour my heart into future events and projects for Hayden's Heart.

Please contact me with any questions regarding the foundation at: lauren.maffei@haydensheart.org.

Tatum Heiser - Pennsylvania Regional Director

Screen Shot 2019-02-27 at 2.14.02 PM.png

I am Ady's sister and Hayden’s Aunt, and I am honored to be an HH board member. I live in Williamsport PA with my husband Andy and our four children, and I own 2 childcare facilities in the Williamsport area. Hayden's journey has given me a different perspective in my personal home life, as well as with the families and children we deal with. Since Hayden's diagnosis, 2 infant children in our care have passed, one from a CHD. Dealing with children, other than my own, on a daily basis has really opened my heart and eyes to help parents become aware of CHD.

I've always been a firm believer in the saying "everything for a reason". Hayden’s journey for me started when he was 20 weeks in utero. Although he was not yet born there was a desire to spread the word about his condition and have people pray for him and his family. Hayden's journey was a difficult one, but through it all he inspired thousands with his piercing blue eyes and his captivating smile. So although I don’t yet know the reason he was taken so soon, I do know that more people still need to know about Hayden and his journey and it is my intention to spread his story but also raise awareness of CHD.

I play a huge part in organizing the many events that take place in Ady's hometown and am proud of how successful these events have been. Currently I head the Heart to Heart Gala that takes place in Pennsylvania in the Fall every other year. If you would like more information or to support this event in any way, please contact me at tatum.heiser@haydensheart.org.

Shannan Kinley - Pennsylvania Regional Director

I am Shannan Kinley, and I live in Williamsport, Pa with my husband Adam and our 3 children. Ady and I have been friends for almost 30 years! It is a privilege to be a part of something that has such a meaningful purpose. I feel that we are all put on this earth to be a blessing to each other, so I am honored to be able to play a role in supporting other CHD families. I take this role very seriously and will give my best effort to help raise awareness about CHD and keep sweet Hayden's memory alive. I will be helping plan and run events in Williamsport. Please contact me at shannan.kinley@haydensheart.org.

Jena Winter - New Jersey Regional Director

I currently live in Sparta, N.J. with my husband and our 3 boys. Being a stay at home mom has been the joy of my life and allowed me precious time with my family, and to follow my passion, doing charitable work.

I had been following Hayden’s Prayers Page and met Ady shortly after Hayden passed away. We became instant friends. I knew when Hayden’s Heart was founded that I wanted to be a part of it. After participating in many of their events and supporting in whatever capacity I was capable it was a great honor to be asked to take on the role of New Jersey Regional Director.

I am amazed at how much this grass roots organization has grown in such a short time! I am so excited to see what the next five years (and after) brings. I am committed to keeping Hayden’s Memory alive by helping the Heart community and raising CHD awareness.

In October of 2015 I was blessed with the opportunity to attend the first 'Healing of the Heart Retreat' for mamas of heart angels, hosted by Hayden's Heart. Through that life changing experience, I walked away knowing that my heart was leading me to find a way to help other grieving families, and in 2016 I became part of the core planning team for future Healing of the Heart retreats.  In 2017 - 2018 I was thrilled to also take on the position of Hayden’s Holiday coordinator and to be able to play a small role in blessing newly bereaved families through Hayden’s Heart. I am currently serving as the social media chair for Hayden’s Heart and look forward to interacting with our supporters through social media and keeping everyone up to date on all of the exciting things we do throughout the year to support the heart community.

My husband Obee and I live in Northern California where most of my days are filled with homeschooling our four living children - Hayden, Ellie, Jordyn & Avery. Our sweet heart angel, Evan, passed away at 27 months old. I feel honored to be given the opportunity to fulfill the role of Social Media coordinator and to serve on the Hayden’s Heart executive board.

Ashley Donovan - Donor Outreach Committee Chair

I grew up in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and I have had the pleasure of knowing Ady since high school. My husband, Michael, and I currently live in Mount Airy, Maryland, with our two beautiful children, Leah and Liam. Since the first day we learned of Hayden's journey, his name and legacy is something we talk about daily in our home. For myself and my husband, it is crucial to us that we teach our children the importance of giving back to our community and always trying to help others in need.

Hayden's bright orange hair and contagious smile touched my family's heart deeply. And thus, I feel so honored and elated that Ady and Rob chose me to join the Hayden's Heart Executive Board. I am honored to join the leadership team, and I look forward to using my time and talents to help grow the Donor Outreach Committee. It is my mission in life to assist and raise awareness of CHD by helping others in Hayden's name. Please contact me at Ashley.Donovan@haydenheart.org. with any suggestions or inquiries related to financial or in-kind donations for upcoming events.

I couldn't be more proud to be a board member of Hayden's Heart Inc. I am originally from Williamsport, PA, where Ady and I became lifelong friends and I now live in Bethlehem, PA with my husband Chad and our two daughters, Olivia and Anna. Hayden will always be special to our family and he will live forever in our hearts as an inspiration and a blessing. Working with Hayden’s Heart Inc. has been an extremely fulfilling experience for me. My primary role with Hayden’s Heart Inc. is to assemble and send our Grieving Hearts packages to heart families across the country. Nothing can heal the broken heart of losing a child but we hope these packages provide some comfort to the heart parents and siblings during these extremely trying times.

Please contact me at kati.zsilavecz@haydensheart.org if you have a heart family whose heart warrior has become an angel and you would like to request a care package for them. Please visit our care packages page for more information.

I consider it a great honor to be a part of the board for Hayden’s Heart! My second child, Hannah Grace, was born with Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome on June 13, 2013. We had 18 beautiful months together before unexpected complications put her on the list for a heart transplant. It soon became clear this was not to be her path and she passed away a month later in January of 2015. My life forever changed that day but in July 2017 I attended the “Healing of the Heart” retreat and my life changed again, this time for the better. I was asked to be a part of the Core Team for the fall retreat and I found an outlet for my grief and a passion for helping others grieving the loss of a child. When asked to coordinate “Hayden’s Holiday” I said yes without hesitation. I live in Virginia with my husband, my daughter Addison and my son Emmett. I work full time in the Human Services field and love spending time with family and friends. Working with Hayden’s Heart is proof that there is light after darkness and I’m thankful everyday for the relationships I have gained and for the opportunities to give.

I've always been a close follower of Hayden's story and am continuously inspired by the Dorsetts' strength and determination to keep Hayden's memory alive by establishing Hayden's Heart Inc. It's been amazing to see the support community grow and to learn about the numerous heart families being helped by this wonderful organization. I am honored to join the leadership team and I look forward to using my time and talents to help launch and grow the Donor Outreach Committee. I live in Fair Haven, NJ with my husband George and my three children; Rosie (6), Timothy (4) and Julianne (3). I'm fortunate to be home with my children during the week but I welcome meaningful opportunities to exercise my body and brain outside the home. In his short life, Hayden touched my heart so I'm drawn to the mission of continuing his legacy by helping to support families affected by CHD. Please contact me at Deirdre.spiro@haydensheart.org.

Ashley Halligan - Advisory Board

Screen Shot 2019-03-05 at 2.05.05 PM.png

I am so proud and honored to be a part of the Hayden’s Heart board. I first became acquainted with the Dorsett’s and Hayden’s Heart after the loss of my son Oliver to the Congenital Heart Defect called Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Return (T.A.P.V.R) when he was 6 months old on May 12, 2014. My husband and I received a Grieving Hearts package soon after he passed and I was immediately drawn to this amazing organization. Fast forward a year and I was one of the 25 honored bereaved mothers who got to attend the first Healing of the Heart Retreat, where the bond between Ady and myself became so much stronger. I’m now a part of the Healing of the Heart Retreat CORE team, who is assisting with organizing future retreats to help more mothers in their grief, just like Ady, Rob, and all of Hayden’s Heart has helped me.

I am also the fundraising coordinator for all incoming fundraisers hosted by others to benefit Hayden’s Heart. Please reach out to me via my email (below) if you are interested in hosting your own fundraiser for us! Originally from Worcester, MA, I now live in Pittsburgh, PA with my husband Trevor, our rainbow baby Violet, and our two dogs Lacey and Coal. I am a stay at home mom and I also work customer service from home full time. Life as an angel mom is no easy task, but thanks to Hayden’s Heart, I’m now feeling closer than ever to my son. I look forward to doing some amazing work with my fellow board members in honor of not only the amazing Hayden, but my son Oliver.

To contact me please email me at ashley.halligan@haydensheart.org.

Tierney Norris- Advisory Board

I am honored to be an active advisory board member of Hayden’s Heart Inc and I believe keeping his memory alive is an incredible blessing and privilege. Sharing in the joys of heart shaped clouds, talking about Hayden in heaven with my 7 year old daughter and 21 month old son, and learning more about my own spirituality through Hayden’s life on earth have been gifts from him to me. It has been an emotional journey that has forced my heart to open in ways I could never have imagined. As an ICU nurse taking care of sick babies, I often find myself calling on Hayden for strength during my time at work and as a mother. And as a member of this wonderful foundation, I hope that my colorful creativity, spirited enthusiasm, honest feedback, and emotional connection to Hayden’s family reflect in my efforts to raise awareness and support many other families through the joint efforts of Hayden’s Heart.
